Schedule for the 4th Mobility in Volos

(Nov. 3rd to Nov. 8th, 2013)

Sunday, Nov. 3rd

Arrival of participants and accommodation in hotel or with host families in the evening.

Monday, Nov. 4th

Morning : Visit to the Town Hall: Official welcome by the local and school authorities. Visit to the Environmental Education Center of Makrinitsa: Opening activities and a brief environmental seminar - Visit to the Folk Art Museum of Makrinitsa.

Lunch at a local restaurant - Return to Volos in the afternoon

Evening : Dinner out (optional)– Students dine at host families

Tuesday, Nov. 5th

Morning : Visit to a factory producing local products

Visit to picturesque villages in Pelion ( Milies or Vizitsa)

Lunch at a traditional restaurant in the village.

Return to the hotel late in the afternoon

Evening: Optional dining out in a local pub - Students dine at host families

Wednesday , Nov 6th

A daily trip to Archaeological Site of Vergina and Salonica

Lunch in Salonica

Thursday, Nov 7th

Morning : Visit to the Archeological Museum of Volos which houses important findings from the Neolithic era.

Walk along the promenade to the city centre

Lunch (students at host families) - Foreign students cook together with their hosts traditional recipes from their countries

Afternoon: Teachers’ meeting at school (planning next mobility)

Evening: The main activity of the project Presentation of different national food and recipes - A farewell dinner

Friday, Nov. 8th

Visit to the city centre – A trip to Athens and departure of participants.

The program may be slightly varied depending on weather conditions.

Minutes of the Comenius mobility meeting in
Volos

                  (Thursday 7^th November 2013)

During the 4^th Comenius mobility in Volos, a meeting with the teachers that participate in the specific program was held and the following decisions were taken in order to specify what has to be done until the next mobility in Spain ( 23^rd February 2014 – 1^st March 2014)

1. A questionnaire about sports will be designed by the Austrian team and sent to each partner by the beginning of December. The questionnaire will be conducted in a group of 50 students. The results will be in powerpoint presentation accompanied with some students’ comments and they will have to be uploaded by the beginning of February 2014.
2. A report on the subject of Physical Education

The report will be based on an interview with the Physical Education teacher of each school which will last for about 5 minutes. Some possible topics for this interview are the following: the curriculum of the subject of PE in different countries, the facilities available for this subject, the degree of state support for the teaching of PE in each country and any sport competitions that take place throughout the schoolyear. The video with the interview should be uploaded a week before Spain.

     3.     Dances

Students have to make a short post on the history of one national dance and a link to a video with this dance. This should be uploaded 10 days before the visit ot Spain.

The students should also be prepared to teach this dance to the others.

The workshop with the dances that will be held in Spain will also include a flashmob on “Live your life” by Mika.

      4.   Videoconference

             New videoconferences will be held between partners, as arranged, at the end of                                       

             November.

      5. Exchange of Christmas and New Year cards

       This will take place between 30 students - partners, as arranged in Greece. Cards 

       should be sent at the beginning of December.
